Back from Kelowna!

Kelowna, BC is a beautiful place. My friend S lives there, having recently moved from USA and so I went to visit her and her family and my friend T for the weekend. We had a fabulous time going to the beach, soaking up the sun, eating the Best burgers in the world at Gorgeous George's, going out dancing, drinking on the patio, cutting S's hair (my first time cutting hair except for my bangs), buying wine from the Okanogan, hitchhiking (accidentally - we were waiting for the bus and he offered to pick us up. Turns out he knows Sarah's dad! haha), BBQing, making brownies, and going for a long walk looking at the beautiful cherry blossoms. It was so nice outside that I actually didn't feel like shopping which is sort of wierd but it was a really nice relaxing weekend and I'm so glad I got to go.

Neck lace

So, I have a new necklace. I made it yesterday. Inspired by these chain and chunky necklaces above, I went with my dad to Rona (the local home renovation store) while he got some white-tipped screws. I picked up this chain for $6 and fashioned it into a necklace! I love it. And I love that I made it in about three minutes.

PS. this is the first self-portrait I've posted. Hopefully some more to come since I finally bought new batteries for my camera! haha.
Also am going to Kelowna this weekend to visit friends and so I leave tomorrow and get back Sunday. Sooo excited.

Tears stream down your face

I just received word today that the Coldplay concert scheduled for July here in town (they never have been before, I don't think) was cancelled.

I'm extremely disappointed, seeing as they are one of my favorite bands and I was so looking forward to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of such awesome experience. I had my pre-sale code and everything ready to buy them on Thursday. So disappointed.

Stick a Feather in my Hat

A few weekends ago, I picked up a little baggie at a garage sale (one of my favorite things about summer!) that had some feathers in it, intending to make some headbands out of them. In the bag turned out to be this gorgeous leather and bead thing that I've made into a headband. I was quite excited about that. Plus I still have the feathers to make another! I like the idea that Annah had of wearing flowers in my hair too. Very summery. I like the idea.

THe bottom left feather headband is from Just Liv's Etsy shop. THe others are a mix of random inspiration (Mary Kate and Erin Wasson) and Urban Outfitters.
